I had heard of The Graduate before going into this show, but didn’t know their music. As a band that had toured with some of my favorites, such as Jack’s Mannequin, I had high hopes, and they were definitely a pleasant surprise. Also, they got bonus points for being an IL band. I would definitely not mind seeing them again.
Ludo and Tommy & The High Pilots were also on this bill, but The Graduate, despite being in a supporting slot, had the best light. Sometimes it works out that way. In fact, there was so much light, that I had no problem shooting with zooms the whole time, mostly the 24-70mm f/2.8L and the 70-200mm f/2.8L IS.
Oh and if you’re shooting The Graduate, make sure you keep an eye out for when singer Corey Warning plays the drum at the front of the stage… it’s a great, unique photo-op.
