I forgot I had these shots!
Powerspace opened up for Kill Hannah at Double Door a while ago. Somehow, despite all the local shows I attend, I had never seen Powerspace, despite them being a Chicago band. A band with a lot of energy, and comfortable in front of the audience, it’s not surprising that they’re signed to Fueled By Ramen Records and have been on tour with the likes of Hawthorne Heights and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. Kill Hannah is a Chicago staple. They’ve been around forever, and have played with countless Chicago bands in countless Chicago venues. Their hit single “Kennedy” was played on the radio nearly non-stop when it first came out. It would be hard to find a Chicago music person who hasn’t seen Kill Hannah play at least once, and nearly impossible to find someone who hasn’t heard of them. (more…)
The Sounds played a sold-out show at the Double Door a little over a week ago. It was hot and sweaty, just like a good concert should be. The Scandinavian band wowed their Chicago audience with a set of upbeat songs, ranging from previous well-known hits to some of their newer songs, including their new single, “No One Sleeps When I’m Awake.” (more…)
