As I’ve blogged before, The Frantic is a super fun punk-esque band out of Chicago. I had contacted them about shooting their show at House of Blues on June 19th, but then they countered with an offer to shoot some backstage stuff as well. I jumped at the chance. Not only does House of Blues have fantastic color in their band rooms, but The Frantic and their entourage are awesome. (more…)

Butch Walker @ The House of Blues (Preview)
Butch Walker is hands-down one of the best performers that I’ve ever seen.
He can captivate the audience to the point of a hush coming over the crowd, where you can literally hear a pin drop during his acoustic songs. But then, in the next breath, he can the venue clapping along to an upbeat song. His voice is powerful, emotional, and unique. He interacts with the audience by telling jokes or calling people out; shows are not a performance, they’re one big party. (more…)

This Providence @ The House of Blues
This Providence, a pop-punk band from Seattle, Washington was the second opener on the Uncle Fest Tour (which also featured the previously blogged about Relient K).
I thought This Providence was fun. They were peppy (albeit slightly generic), despite being in what I feel is the worst slot of the show. They didn’t let their guard down for a minute, always working the front of the stage to rev the crowd up and keep them excited. And the crowd was excited, as evidenced by the reverberating floor.
